Dream Away and  Mini Tour Adventures!

Hello Friends!
Its been a very busy month! Although we are only two weeks in, I have working really hard on varies projects and playing my heart out!

The first week on July, I had the pleasure of joining my fellow Woman Songwriter Collective member and dear friend, Christa Joy in the studio to perform some backing vocals on her NEW ALBUM. I got to preview some of the tracks and I can't wait for it to be released! She is a true country/folk goddess!

The following evening, on July 3rd, I headed up to the Dream Away Lodge with fellow WSC member/partner in crime Carolyn Walker and my best friend on this earth, Madeline Laporte, of Street Change. As soon as we approached the mountain, A MONSOON hit with full force! The three of us gritted our teeth as we crawled up the mountain, each one of us believing that this journey would be our last. However, as we approached the Dream Away, the storm subsided and we proceeded to load in our gear and set up. The  Dream Away is such a legendary place, filled with history and mystique. Every corner you turn, there is a little reminder of the venue's former status as a brothel and meeting place of such legends as Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.

The night was unlike any other. I got to share so many special moments with Carolyn. Her violin playing absolutely tears at one's heart strings. She can also express unbelievable joy when she rips a joyous fiddle solo on a happier tune.

Maddie also joined us for an "All-Star" version of "Summer Everyday". I'm so happy that I got to share that moment with my two favorites gals. I still feel warm and fuzzy just thinking about it!
The night was truly special and it definitely takes the cake for my best show of the summer! (Thus far!)

The following morning, around 7 am, I was awoken by the sound of an SUV in my driveway and a loud knock of my door. Josh and Collin had driven through the night to retrieve me for out week of Ohio adventures. I grabbed my backpack off the floor, headed out the door and kicked Josh out of the driver's seat.
We arrived in Ohio safely after 9 hours of rainy day drizzle. We spent the evening eating Otter Pops and putting the finishing touches on the music video for "Hungry".

During the week, I got to go Boulder Jumping with Collin, swim in a river and even started work on a new song!

Later in the week, I returned to one of my favorite spots in Kent, Oh, to play a show at Scribbles Coffee Co. Josh and I found a few great book, including a Rock and Roll encyclopedia from the 90's and shared some tasty drinks!

On Saturday, Josh and I packed up the mini van, and headed out to Rochester, Ny, for my good friend Jon Lewis's album release show! The show took place at Boulder Coffee Co, a swanky coffee shop with beautiful art, delicious tea and a beautiful old piano. I got to open up for Jon, who did two sets; one acoustic and one with a full band. Both sets were incredible and I am so stoked for Jon!
You can find Jon Lewis on Jonlewis.bandcamp.com!

All in all, it was a great week! I am back home in the good ol' Pioneer Valley for the next few weeks, but will be headed out on the road for almost the entire month of August! I'm headed to Maine on August 1st for a show, playing the Cleveland Blues Festival on August 9 and going on a wonderful New England tour with WSC founder Katie Sachs! More info soon!
