NYC  on A Sunday

After being home for a about a week and playing quite a few shows, the adventure continued yesterday in New York City!

I woke up around seven to make it into the city for noon for a show at Caffe Vivaldi in West Village. Joining me for the show was none other than VICKIE NATALE. Yes, THE Vickie Natale, star search winner, award winning jazz singer, as well as one of my best friends on the this earth.  She and I joined forces with Dave Veslocki, co-producer of Virgin, as well as her soon-to-be released album Time Machine (And so many more amazing albums, singles and videos for other artists)  for this show.

The show was very intimate in a gorgeous and very cozy red room with a BEAUTIFUL grand piano. Vickie and Dave played on set together and Vickie played the last set on her own at the piano, which was incredible. She is truly one of the most talented, beautiful, and kind human beings I have ever met.

Vickie and I also collabed on one of our favorite songs, "Fine And Mellow" for a wonderful duet as the final song. We were inspired by the spontaneous collab and have decided to start writing together this year!

See our duet here:

After the show,  we headed to Little Italy, as we always do when we visit together (We being Vickie, Mama Lynn & I) and visited our favorite haunt, Cafe Roma for some Italian ice, pastries, & coffee!

Vickie is due to release her new album, "Time Machine" THIS YEAR. She has released a few videos for songs on the album, my favorite being "All Night Long".

Yesterday was an absolutely wonderful day and I look forward to returning to the city very soon!

Tour (Part 2)

Hello!
Things have been absolutely magical in the Midwest! I've played a bunch of wonderful venues & made so many new friends. It's going to be hard to return home for sure, even though I miss the valley terribly.

On 5/20 I played at Secret Cellar Jazz Bar in Kent, Oh. Secret Cellar is a super swanky, underground wine bar with a Speakeasy vibe. I got to play a GORGEOUS  piano. The bar was surprisingly packed for a Tuesday and I am stoked to say I made some new friends!

I took a small break in the tour to attend (and help shoot) the wedding of Jared & Sam, two Ohio friends! Although shooting a wedding is a lot of work, I had a blast being "light stand girl" for Collin & Josh. They always inspire me to want to learn more about photography and maybe work it into my music somehow.

The following week I arrived in Hubbard, Oh, a small town on the border of Pennsylvania, not much bigger than the valley's own Turner's Falls. I was due to play at Downtown Coffee Cafe in Hubbard, a small but bustling bar in the small town center. I walked into the bar and half of the folks I met at the wedding, as well of Josh's entire extended family was there! I played a long, but solid three hour set and made so many new friends and fans. I got to hang out with some BAD ASS 80 year old ladies with more sass than you or me combined!

The next evening I played at an outdoor wine bar called Swirl in Solon. The evening was gorgeous and I met a table of newlyweds who were into Nirvana. The crowd was very kind and super into the music. That being said, that booked me for another night in August.  So yes, Ohio, I will be back!

For my final gig in Ohio, I returned to the Secret Cellar and played a solid three hour set featuring some new originals AND a few new covers! I made friends with two lovely individuals who had seen my set in Canton a few weeks back and MEMORIZED my whole album. It was super cool to see two folks singing along to my set.

Although I have played all of my dates, I won't be packing my bags for another few days BECAUSE:
We are FINALLY shooting the music video for "Hungry"! The boys and I have been pulling some seriously late nights, breaking into spooky buildings and making many a Home Depo run! I can't wait to show you all what mischief we have been up to!

I had an absolutely amazing time on the road, and I intend to keep traveling throughout the year! I would like to thank every single person who has supported me throughout this tour, every venue that has hosted me, every individual that let me crash on their couch & to everyone who came out to show, sang along and made me feel welcome so far from home. I would also like to especially thank the Allens, Casales, Darrows, Blue Lunch, The Cleveland Blues Society, and of course, my two partners in crime, Josh & Collin. Thank you all for everything you do. See you in August, Buckeye's!

xoxo
