Hello!

This week has been a very magical one.

On Saturday, my band and I performed at the Art's Block in Greenfield, which is a very wonderful performance venue here in the Pioneer Valley.

We has the absolute privilege of sharing the stage with Juke Joint Jazz and absolutely BRILLIANT jazz band. While we sipped on delicious whiskey, we were overjoyed to hear such classics as "Day In The Life Of A Fool," "Watermelon Man", and so many others! I even got to join the band for a song!

It was such a pleasure to listen to them. I encourage you all to check them out at the Iron Horse on March 20th!

Juke Joint jazz consists of Jason Schwartz on bass, Ken Forfia on piano, Chet Pasek on drums, David Kisala on sax and Michael Levine guitar.

My boys absolutely killed it. Jeff got a new electric upright bass THE DAY OF THE SHOW and took her out for a spin, resulting in a very cool sound. I got to play the Art's Block's GORGEOUS piano, which was pure magic, although playing and sitting down is always strange for me! My butt gets mad sweaty. It was such a great show, and an awesome way to kick off 2015!

Josh Allen got some awesome pictures. Check em out!

So now for the BIG NEWS!

In two weeks, I will be heading into the studio to record a 45, due to be released in the summer! I will be cutting to tape at Northfire Studios, on one of their beautiful machines, on February 1st and I can't began to express how stoked I am. As for the tunes I'm going to record, You'll have to wait and see!

Happy belated holidays and happy New Year my friends! It has been a truly magical December and I am very very excited to have a fresh start in 2015!

I played some pretty wonderful seasonally-themed shows and just plain magical shows! The most recent development? I have been playing with a full band!
On December 19th, I was joined by the incredible Lisa Marie Ellingsen & her band at the Rendezvous in Turner's Falls. Lisa is also a member of The Woman Songwriter Collective and we played a few tunes together, including "St James Infirmary " and Lisa's original song "The Nightlife", which we also play in the Collective! She ripped through an incredible set of original blues and rock and roll favorites. Best moment of the night? Lisa's instrumental of "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch"!
My band consisted of 2/3 of the incredible blues band Cold Shot, who I have been playing in various dives with sense the age of 16! Zach Pine was throwing it down on the drums and Jeff Fortier was ripping on bass. The boys added so much to my songs and are ABSOLUTELY going to be playing with me a bunch more! We played mostly originals BUT (surprise, surprise…) we threw in a Dylan tune at the end of the night, ending with a rock and roll version of "All Along The Watchtower".
Shout-out to Tim Reddington for taking the top photo and Josh Allen of We Are One Photographic for taking the bottom few from the voo!

The next evening, I was joined once again by Andy Gould for a HOLIDAY SHOW at an incredible artisan bread shop in Haydenville Ma appropriately called Bread Euphoria. Andy & I played most of the evening together, singing on each other's original music and playing many covers together. We even conquered our personal and mutual vendetta against Christmas music and sang a very silly version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside." I unfortunately don't have a video, however, I can assure you that it was very VERY SILLY. Andy also did a great version of "The Night Santa Went Crazy," by good old Weird Al! It was a very pleasant evening and I even busted out a new song! Andy is due to release a new album this winter, and I will definitely be keeping you posted!

The day after Christmas, my band and I played at Luthier's Co-op. 1/3 guitar shop, 1/3 bar and 1/3 venue. Basically, heaven. We played a really great set and I am so stoked on how hard they have been working & how much they have made the songs their own. We threw in a jazz rendition on Tom Petty's "Breakdown" and did a silky smooth "Tangerine".

One of the most incredible highlights of the Holiday season was getting to play First Night Northampton again with the Woman Songwriter Collective. We had the absolutely pleasure of performing at the Lyman First Church Hall, which was located in the meeting hall of the church. It was decorated with beautiful lights. While we were loading in, local valley badasses, June & The Bee performed a set of amped up, power folk originals.
We performed in the round, doing a set of mostly original music, with the exception of (a very pregnant) Christa Joy leading us in "Long Way Home", a tribute to one of her favorite musicians, Tom Waits. Lisa also lead us in a cover of Lucinda Williams' "Jackson." After playing in so many bustling bars the last few weeks, it was quite refreshing to play to a room of attentive, folk-music lovers.

I can already tell that this year is going to be a great one. I've got some big exciting news to share with you all very soon!
Until then, Happy New Years!
